IB

How it Works

Diploma Programme

  • Freshman (9th grade) and Sophomore (10th grade) years
    • During this time, students will be engaged in a rigorous curriculum that will prepare them to complete the IB Curriculum during their 11th and 12th grade years. Students will be encouraged to complete an accelerated course track including being advanced in Regents.
  • Junior (11th grade) and Senior (12th grade) years
    • Students will be taking the full course offering of the IBDP, engaging in 4 HL (higher level) courses that span through senior year, Spanish SL (standard level) course and a CORE course designed to facilitate the completion of the independent CORE IBDP components.
    • During senior year, students will continue to participate in the 4 HL course and Spanish SL course, but will swap out the Core course for their choice of Global Politics or Visual Arts.
    • CORE components must be completed independently throughout the junior and senior years.

Certificate Programme

  • Starting Junior year, students can choose to participate in 1 or more HL or SL courses without having to commit to the full IBDP. Students pursuing the Certificate Programme will not be able to take advantage of the full benefits of the IBDP,
